Plans for renewal along Mt. Hope Avenue

The year 2010 marks the start of construction toward a revitalized Mt. Hope Avenue. A "new" Mt. Hope corridor will give the feel of an urban village with a vibrant streetscape to welcome pedestrians.

From Elmwood Avenue to Rossiter Road, the first phase of Mt. Hope's face-lift will produce new sidewalks, more landscaping, underground utilities, space for outdoor cafes, off-street parking and other amenities.

The College Town-Village District will create an environment enticing to neighbors and employees, visitors and students at the University of Rochester and its Medical Center, and everyone ready to experience a refreshed Rochester destination.

This vision for Mt. Hope Avenue was made possible through the work and cooperation of business and property owners, neighbors, other interested community supporters, and elected officials.
